Massage Therapy in Jacksonville, FL
Dr. Eric Hall delivers clinical massage therapy in Jacksonville at Full Swing Healthcare on Beach Blvd. This is medical soft tissue work, not a spa service.
Massage as a Medical Tool, Not a Spa Service
At Full Swing Healthcare, massage therapy is a clinical intervention. Dr. Eric Hall, DC is a former Division I football and baseball athlete with a B.S. in Kinesiology from Jacksonville University and a Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic. He uses massage techniques grounded in anatomy and biomechanics, not relaxation protocols.
The goal is to prepare soft tissue for adjustment, accelerate healing in injured structures, and address the compensatory muscle patterns that develop when your body has been protecting an injury. This is why our massage sessions are almost always combined with chiropractic care and often with IASTM scraping or cupping therapy.

Massage Techniques We Use at Full Swing
Swedish massage provides long effleurage strokes that shift the nervous system toward parasympathetic recovery and are used as a warm-up layer before deeper work. Deep tissue massage targets the deeper muscle and connective tissue layers, effective for chronic tension, old injuries with fibrotic buildup, and postural dysfunction from desk work or physical labor.
Sports massage is pre- and post-activity work focused on specific muscle groups used in your sport. It reduces delayed onset muscle soreness and accelerates recovery between training sessions. Trigger point therapy uses sustained pressure on hyperirritable spots that refer pain to other areas. Many headaches and shoulder problems actually originate from trigger points in distant muscles. Myofascial release addresses the fascial restrictions that cause the "tight" feeling that doesn't respond to stretching.
For expecting patients, we also offer modified prenatal massage that addresses the hip, low back, and sciatic pain common in pregnancy, often combined with our prenatal chiropractic care.
The Chiropractic + Massage Combination
A chiropractic adjustment corrects joint position. But if the surrounding muscles are in spasm or the fascia is restricted, the joint is going to drift back. Massage relaxes those tissues first, or reinforces the adjustment afterward, so the correction holds longer. This is the main reason our patients get better faster than those who do chiropractic or massage alone.
For back pain, neck pain, whiplash recovery, and auto injury rehabilitation, the multi-modal approach is consistently superior to single-modality treatment. Dr. Hall designs the massage component specifically around what Dr. Muren finds in your spinal assessment. This is coordinated clinical care, not two separate services running in parallel.
Massage Therapy FAQ: Jacksonville, FL
Does insurance cover massage therapy in Florida?
Coverage varies by plan. When massage is prescribed as part of a chiropractic treatment plan and documented as medically necessary, some Florida Blue, Humana, and United Healthcare plans will cover it. We verify your benefits before your first visit. See our insurance page.
How is this different from a spa massage?
Spa massage is designed for relaxation. Clinical massage at Full Swing is designed to fix a problem. Dr. Hall reviews your injury history and structural assessment before deciding which techniques to use. Every session has a specific therapeutic goal.
Should I get massage before or after my adjustment?
Usually before. Massage relaxes the surrounding musculature, which makes the joint more accessible and the adjustment more comfortable and effective. For post-adjustment soreness, we’ll sometimes do light massage after. Dr. Hall determines the sequence based on your presentation that day.
