Chiropractic Care in Jacksonville, FL
Chiropractic is what we built this clinic on. It's not a side service. It's not something we do in between selling supplements. It's the core of everything we do at Full Swing Healthcare, and we take it seriously.
A chiropractic adjustment is a precise, controlled movement applied to a joint that has become restricted or misaligned. Done right, it restores normal motion, reduces nerve irritation, and allows the surrounding muscles to stop guarding. Patients often feel the difference on the table. That's not placebo. That's mechanics.
Dr. Muren is trained in four distinct adjustment styles. He chooses the technique based on your body, your condition, and your comfort level. Nobody here is forcing a high-velocity thrust on someone who needs a gentle instrument-assisted approach. Every patient is different and the treatment reflects that.
What's Included in Your Care
Your first visit is not going to be a seven-minute in-and-out. We take time on the front end because that's where it matters most.
Full Assessment Before Any Adjustment
Health history, orthopedic testing, posture and movement evaluation. If you bring X-rays or MRI results, we'll look at them with you and explain what we see. By the end of your first visit, you'll know exactly what's wrong and what we're going to do about it.
Four Adjustment Techniques Available
Diversified is the traditional hands-on technique most people picture when they think of chiropractic. Gonstead adds a more precise, contact-specific protocol that works well for stubborn spinal segments. Activator is an instrument-assisted method that delivers a low-force, targeted impulse without the rotation. Thompson drop table uses a segmented table that drops under the joint during the thrust, reducing the force needed. Dr. Muren decides which one fits your situation.
Soft Tissue Work Alongside Adjustments
Adjustments restore joint mechanics. Soft tissue work addresses what surrounds the joint. Tight muscles and fascial restrictions pull the spine right back out of alignment if you ignore them. We don't ignore them. Cupping, IASTM scraping, and myofascial release are all part of the toolkit here.
Rehab and Movement Work
We have turf space and rehabilitation equipment on site. For patients who need more than just adjustments, we build in specific exercises and movement work that supports what we're doing in the adjustment room.
Common Problems We Treat
Back pain is the most common reason people first call us. But the list doesn't stop there.
Back Pain and Disc Problems
Lumbar disc herniations, bulging discs, and facet joint dysfunction all respond well to chiropractic care in most cases. Dr. Muren has worked with patients who were told they needed surgery and got back to full function without it. Every case is different, and we'll tell you honestly if we don't think chiropractic is the right call for your situation.
Neck Pain and Upper Back Tightness
A lot of neck pain comes from restricted cervical joints combined with chronically tight upper traps. Chiropractic restores the joint motion. Soft tissue work loosens the surrounding musculature. Between the two, most patients see real improvement within a few visits.
Sciatica
The sciatic nerve exits the lumbar spine and runs through the glute and down the leg. When something compresses it, the pain is hard to ignore. Chiropractic decompresses the lumbar segments and we add soft tissue work around the piriformis and glute medius to take the pressure off the nerve from below.
Headaches That Come From the Neck
Cervicogenic headaches originate in the upper cervical spine and refer pain into the head. They feel like migraines but they're driven by mechanical restriction in C1 and C2. Chiropractic is one of the best tools for this. We've had patients tell us their headaches stopped after a few sessions and didn't come back.
Sports Injuries
Shoulder impingements, IT band tightness, hip flexor strains, ankle sprains that didn't heal right. Athletes understand that getting back to performance is the goal, not just getting out of pain. Dr. Muren's TPI background gives him a real edge here because he understands movement mechanics at a high level.
Auto Accident Injuries
Whiplash is the most common injury from rear-end collisions on I-295 or Beach Blvd. It often doesn't show up as severe pain until a day or two after the accident. In Florida, you have 14 days to seek care under your PIP coverage. Do not wait.
What to Expect: Step by Step
Here's how it actually goes from your first call to your last visit.
You Call or Book Online
Reach us at (904) 539-3352 or use the booking form on this site. We'll confirm your appointment and send you intake paperwork to fill out before you arrive. New patient visits are 45 to 60 minutes, so block that time on your calendar.
We Figure Out What's Wrong
Dr. Muren goes through your health history, runs orthopedic and neurological tests, and looks at your posture and movement patterns. If something needs imaging we'll tell you. By the end of this exam, you'll have a clear picture of what's going on with your body.
You Get a Real Treatment Plan
Not a vague "come in three times a week forever" speech. A specific plan with a realistic timeline and the reasoning behind it. If your situation calls for six visits over three weeks, that's what we'll tell you. If it looks like a longer process, we'll tell you that too.
Follow-Up Visits Run 20 to 30 Minutes
We track your progress at every visit. Adjustments, soft tissue work, and movement exercises are all layered in based on where you are in your recovery. If something isn't working, we adjust the approach.
When You're Done, You're Done
We don't stretch treatment plans out past what they need to be. Some patients transition into monthly maintenance care because they feel better when they do. That's a conversation, not a sales pitch. There's zero pressure either way.
