Can Chiropractic Care Help with Neck Pain?
Yes. Neck pain is one of the most common conditions we treat at Full Swing Healthcare and chiropractic care is genuinely effective for most cervical spine issues.
The cervical spine has seven vertebrae and a dense network of muscles, nerves, and connective tissue running through it. When a joint in the neck becomes restricted or misaligned, it can cause local pain, radiating pain into the shoulder or arm, headaches, stiffness, and limited range of motion. Chiropractic adjustments restore normal joint motion in those restricted segments, which reduces nerve irritation and allows the surrounding musculature to relax.
Common causes of neck pain we see at the clinic include whiplash from car accidents, posture breakdown from desk work and screen time, cervical disc herniations, facet joint arthritis, and muscle tension that has progressively restricted the joint. Each of these has a different treatment approach and the assessment we do on your first visit helps us identify which one you're dealing with.
We often combine cervical adjustments with soft tissue work on the upper traps, levator scapulae, and suboccipital muscles. Those muscles hold the tension that keeps pulling the cervical spine back into dysfunction even after a good adjustment. Treating both the joint and the surrounding tissue is how you get results that stick.
